  Marriage and Divorce The way I am addressing this topic is one of controversy in the church.  Moses allowed divorce because of the hardness of men's hearts.  You ever lived with a hard-hearted man, I am here to tell you that it "t'an't nothin" nice.  "In the beginning, it wasn't so", but neither was polygamy, meat-eating, and a whole lot of other things.  The Lord said he hated divorce, and most of us do too, but he didn't say it didn't need to happen nor did he say it won’t going to happen.  Well, guess what?   "Shit happens!", It's life in this crazy, mad, evil world.  Sometimes bad things, things that are taboo, unspeakable things;  they do happen and very often we become better when it happens.  Yes, if each of us performed our duties in the manner in which the scripture dictates there would be no need for living with the pain of abuse nor would there be a need for divorce. Matthew 17:21 “ Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. ” A Message for our Sons and Daughters Matthew 17:21 : "Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting." Both males and females choose the handsome guy and the beautiful girl to date.  Humans tend to overlook people of the opposite gender who might not be the most good-looking.  I hear young people talk a lot about "my type." We ignore someone because they may not be pretty on the outside, but they might be beautiful inside. Remember, Jesus was described as lacking comeliness. "For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him," Isaiah 53:2 . While Satan was often considered handsome because it was easy for him to disguise himself as an angel of light, "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light."

Exhorting My Sisters Who are Down in the Dumps

I am down in the dumps too, let's get up out of this pit.  You are loved more than you can fathom. You are beautiful, chosen and wanted. You are important and valued. You are not alone even when you feel lonely. Your ability to make the ordinary beautiful is a true gift! Don’t neglect self-care; get up out of that bed, and don’t let it take your strength from you. Get cute, read the Word, and meditate on your favorite scripture. Sing praises to your God let gratitude overtake you and thank for 100 small things around you, today, right here, right now. Take heart when you are discouraged and remember our God will defend you! You are important to God’s plan no matter your relationship status. Fall in love with him, He is where your joy comes from whether you are happily married or not, single, widowed, or divorced.  He did not make you to be abused either physically or emotionally.  You are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God. You don’t have to call nobody.
